This elevated 2-storey townhouse had sustained extensive structural movement due to the corrosion of the supporting steel columns. This had resulted in severe cracking and the requirement to vacate the property due to the risk of catastrophic failure. Temporary props were installed to eliminate this risk. The building was then raised back to near its initial position with the use of high capacity hydraulic jacks, before installing new permanent steel columns on new concrete footings. The cracks and damage were then made good and the tenants returned.
