Site Manager

Position Overview

 

The Site Manager (Remedial Building) is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the remedial building activities on construction sites. They report directly to the Project Manager and are responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Site Manager coordinates with subcontractors, manages the site team, and ensures compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage and supervise the remedial building activities on construction sites, ensuring work is completed in accordance with project specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop project plans, budgets, and schedules, and provide regular updates on progress and any deviations.
  • Coordinate and liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services required for the project.
  • Oversee the site team, including leading and directing staff, assigning tasks, and providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Identify and address any issues, delays, or potential risks that may impact the project timeline or quality, and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Manage client relationships, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily site dairies, progress reports, and records of materials and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and quality.

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, with a focus on remedial building activities.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and specifications.

The Leading Hand (Remedial Building) supports the Site Manager in overseeing and coordinating the remedial building activities on construction sites. They are responsible for hands -on and supervising sections of the remedial building works, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. The Leading Hand also assists in coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Supervise and lead sections of the remedial building works, providing guidance and support to ensure work is completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Assist the Site Manager in planning and organizing daily work schedules, resources, and materials required for remedial building activities.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and timely completion.

They possess a range of trade skills and are responsible for executing different hands-on activities as required. The Multi-Skilled Tradesperson works closely with the Site Manager to ensure work is completed efficiently, to a high standard, and in compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Execute a range of remedial building tasks, including repairs and installations, in accordance with project requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to plan and organize daily work schedules, resources, and materials required for remedial building activities.
  • Assist in monitoring work progress, ensuring tasks are completed on time, and reporting any delays or issues to the Site Manager.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, following safe work practices and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings, actively contributing to the promotion of a culture of safety on-site.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any variations or issues encountered.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized and clean work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to identify opportunities for process improvement and provide suggestions to enhance productivity and quality of work.

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Previous experience as a multi-skilled tradesperson in the construction industry, with a focus on remedial building activities.
  • Proficiency in a range of trade skills, such as waterproofing, brickwork, rendering and concrete repairs and general repairs.
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and construction induction card (White Card).

Contract Administrator

Position Overview

 

The Contract Administrator (Remedial Building) supports the Project Manager in managing and administering contracts for remedial building projects. They are responsible for ensuring that contracts are accurately prepared, executed, and monitored, and that all contractual obligations are met. The Contract Administrator also assists in managing project finances, variations, and claims, and provides support in contract negotiations and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Assist the Project Manager in the preparation and administration of contracts for remedial building projects, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and analyse contract documents, identifying key obligations, deliverables, and milestones, and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including the project team, legal department, and accounts department, to ensure contract terms and conditions are understood and adhered to.
  • Prepare and issue contract documentation, including contracts, variations, EOT, and other contractual correspondence, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor contract performance, tracking deliverables, milestones, and payments, and identifying any deviations or potential risks.
  • Assist in managing project finances, including tracking costs, preparing payment schedules, and coordinating with the accounts department for invoicing and payments.
  • Review and assess variations and claims, ensuring proper documentation, evaluation, and negotiation in accordance with contractual provisions.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager in contract negotiations and dispute resolution, providing support in resolving contractual issues and mitigating risks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records and documentation, including correspondence, amendments, and contractual changes.

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Previous experience in contract administration within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on remedial building projects.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, construction contracts, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and other relevant tools.
  • Sound financial acumen and understanding of project finances and cost control.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Degree or diploma in construction management, construction building, or a related field is desirable.
