This residential building had on-going water ingress issues into a unit below a podium level with planter boxes. Flood testing with drain dye determined that the source of water ingress was the planter boxes. The planter boxes were excavated and made good, prior to the installation of a high-quality liquid waterproof membrane system. To avoid reinstating soil into the planter boxes and the inherent maintenance issues this causes, large plant pots were installed on FC sheet, supported on pedestals. This allows on-going inspection and maintenance to be carried out, without the need for extensive excavations.
